Within the last eight years, the music scene in Fargo-Moorhead has experienced a renaissance with live music shows becoming the norm rather than the exception. As more regional and national acts have been coming to perform in the area, the number of music venues available has exploded. The best music venue in the area by far is the Bluestem Amphitheater in Moorhead, Minnesota. Nestled along the Red River directly across from North Dakota, the Bluestem is home to a summer musical performed by students at the Trollwood Performing Arts School. When the musical isn't taking the stage, national acts are scheduled to perform that have included Boys 2 Men, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, Billy Currington, O.A.R., Cheap Trick and more.
